Implants

Dental implants can be a great way to permanently replace missing teeth or to anchor complete and partial dentures.

A dental implant is a titantium structure which is shaped like the root of a tooth.  This implant is placed surgically.  Once the implant has healed and integrated with the jaw bone, it can serve as a very strong foundation to support a permanent replacement tooth, a fixed bridge, or an attachment to add stability to a denture.

A tooth which is replaced with an implant is attached directly to the jaw without attaching to any other teeth.  This allows a patient to clean and maintain the area with normal brushing and flossing.  This can be a great option for patients who have difficulty cleaning under fixed bridges and want to avoid complete and removable partial dentures.
